Prescriptions are for patients with long-term conditions who receive regular treatment. Your doctor will decide who can have a repeat prescription.
Prescriptions can be ordered by:
- registering for Patient Access
- through your nominated pharmacy
- in person, by a family member,
- request at the surgery by filling in the slip of repeat medication. This is attached to your prescription.
- by email: bcwbccg.ashfieldrdscripts@nhs.net
You can order online using Patient Access. Login to Patient Access to request a repeat prescription. To register for Patient Access you can contact the surgery. You will need to bring in ID to register for this. You can order prescriptions, make appointments online and view your medical record.
We cannot take telephone requests for repeat prescriptions because of the possibility of error. We do accept telephone requests for prescriptions after 3.00pm if the patient is housebound or elderly and cannot attend the surgery to order.
It is the responsibility of the patient to arrange collection and delivery of the prescription.
Please allow at least 48 working hours before your prescription is ready for collection. Please note, prescriptions are not processed over the weekend.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year. This is to review these regular medications. The notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Nominating a pharmacy
You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.
You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:
- Online, on the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
- At your GP practice
- At any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions
Questions about your medication or prescription
