Health Promotion and Disease Management
Our Practice carries out Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, CHD, stroke reviews on a annual basis. We also carry out NHS Lifestyle checks to prevent coronary heart disease or strokes. If you are aged between 40 to 74, please ask for details.
Chronic Disease Management
Patients with Heart Disease, Diabetes, Stroke/Tia, Hypertension (blood pressure), Asthma, COPD, Hyperthyroid, Epilepsy, Cancer and Mental Health issues are all advised to have yearly reviews to monitor their condition.
Child Health and Immunisation
The Practice Nurse carries out child immunisations in line with the national immunisation programme. Immunisations that are given are recorded on the patient’s records and logged in the babies ‘red book.’ Childhood immunisations are provided by the nurse Thursday mornings at Ashfield, Pendeford patients will be booked into this clinic at Ashfield
Please make sure in your own child’s interest that immunisations are completed on time. Child Health surveillance clinics are held on Wednesday Morning at Ashfield, Pendeford patients will be booked into this clinic at Ashfield. The doctor holds these clinics.
Maternity Services
The community midwife is provided by the Royal Wolverhampton Hospital. Patients can refer themselves to this service. Self-refer online
Antenatal Clinic
Antenatal clinics are held on Tuesday mornings at Fordhouses and Monday mornings at Pendeford. The Midwife is in attendance. Deliveries are booked at New Cross Hospital. Postnatal examinations are carried out six weeks after delivery, contraception is also discussed. It is very important not to miss this appointment.
Contraception and Family Planning
The contraceptive pill, Implant injection, Depot injection, and Emergency contraception (morning after pill) are provided by the Doctor and Nurse. Consultations can be made to discuss the best suited contraception for the individual.
Cervical smears are carried out by the Practice Nurse.
Adult Vaccinations
We administer booster vaccinations when required and travel vaccinations.

Health Checks
You will be offered a health check when you join the practice. Any patients aged 16 to 74 years who have not had a consultation within the last three years may request a consultation.
Patients 75 years and over who have not had a consultation within the last twelve months may request a health check with one of our practice team. If you are unable to attend the surgery, a home visit could be arranged.
