Urgent Appointments
Please call or phone your surgery during office hours.
We will do our best to see urgent conditions, especially for children and the elderly on the same day. Half of the appointment slots are pre-bookable and half of the appointments are available on the day.

Cancelling or changing an appointment
If you can not make your appointment let us know as soon as you can so another patient can book the appointment time. You can cancel or change your appointment:

Appointments Information
Appointments are 10 minute appointments. If you have more than one problem or if you feel you need longer to discuss your problem, please request a double appointment.
A responsible adult should attend the appointment with children under 16. A chaperone is available on request.

To register for Patient Access you can contact the surgery. You will need to bring in ID to register for this. You can order prescriptions, make appointments online and view your medical record.
Try the NHS App
You can now use the NHS App, a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services and your GP account on your smartphone or tablet.
You can use the NHS App to check your symptoms and get instant advice, book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, view your GP medical record, access your Covid vaccination status and more.
If you already use online access you can continue to use it. You can use the NHS App as well.

Extended Hours
Ashfield Road Surgery are open Extended Hours Clinics on a Monday evening from 6.30pm to 8.00pm
These appointments are ideal for patients who cannot attend the surgery in normal working hours.
Late Arrivals for Appointments
The practice will, as far as practicable, see patients who arrive late. It will be up to the discretion of the health professional whether they are able to see you. This may result in rebooking the appointment or asking the patient to rebook.
Telephone Consultations
You can arrange to speak to the GP on duty by booking a telephone consultation. General advice can be given during the telephone consultation.
Home Visits
If possible please try to telephone reception between 9.00am and 10.00am if you need a home visit. Visits will usually be made after 12.00pm
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.
You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby.
